Information about the framework for therapy and answers to some commonly-asked questions.
Practice hours are from Monday to Thursday. Evening appointments are also offered on Mondays and Wednesdays.
During our first meeting I will be asking some questions to gain a fuller understanding of what is troubling you and what you would like to gain from sessions. It will also be an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have about the process of therapy. Most often it is helpful to have more than one session before making a decision to commence. If we decide to go ahead and make a start, then that decision will be taken together.
Frequency of Sessions
If our agreement is to continue, we would arrange future sessions to take place on the same day at the same time each week. The establishment of regular sessions is important in order to facilitate, and give momentum to the therapeutic process. Most people find that weekly contact provides a sense of security and continuity whilst they are working on their emotional difficulties.
Individuals: £65 per session. Each session lasts for 50 minutes. A similar fee and duration applies to the initial consultation.
Couples: The initial consultation costs £95 and lasts for 75 minutes. Subsequent sessions cost £75 and are 50 minutes in length. Initially, appointments are typically arranged on a weekly basis. Later on in the work, the regularity of sessions can be reviewed, as appropriate.
Payment during the initial consultation phase is due at the time of the session and can be made by cash or cheque.
Cancellations and Missed Sessions
Psychotherapy sessions require a regular time commitment and thus payment is due for missed appointments or cancelled by you with less than 7 days' notice. (Certain exceptions can be discussed at the initial consultation.) This arrangement enables me to maintain a regular appointment time for the duration of the therapy.
